Youth Service Showcase
(May 7, 2024)

As a leading organization dedicated to promoting civic engagement among young people, we are thrilled to announce the Fresno County Youth Showcase! This exciting event will take place on May 7th at the Tower Theatre,   Doors open at 3pm.  

This event will provide a platform for students and groups who have engaged in outstanding civic service projects to showcase their work and share their impactful stories.


We are eager to invite your students or groups to apply for this exceptional opportunity. By participating in the Youth Showcase, your students will have the chance to present their projects on a large stage in front of a diverse audience, including community leaders, educators, and peers. This is a unique chance for them to share their experiences, demonstrate their skills, and receive recognition for their hard work and dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.

2023 Educator Institute

THE NEXT LEVEL OF CIVIC EDUCATION!

At the CEC Educators Institute you and your lead staff can learn how to develop opportunities for active participation and civic engagement of young leaders in your school with special emphasis on implementing their own projects to address a particular social need in the school and/or community in an effort to obtain the State Seal of Civic Engagement. 

Join us on Tuesday September 19th from 8am - 4:30pm at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building.

This free - One day institute will provide a broad foundation of skills needed to develop a class or club that is engaged and empowered to work with other like-minded individuals or groups to lead the broader community toward positive change. 

 

Workshops include, but not limited to, the fundamentals of project management, innovative civic engagement project design, project-based collaboration, leveraging assets to ensure project success, and strategies to overcome apathy and skepticism.  In addition, we will discuss the partnership between Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS) and the Civic Education Center (CEC) and State Seal of Civic Engagement program.

COST IS FREE, INCLUDING THE SCOUT ISLAND LEADERSHIP ADVENTURE IN FEBRUARY FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENT LEADERS TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS.

 

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE 2 CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS FROM FPU THE COST IS $160.

Fresno County Youth Summit (November 2nd - 3rd 2024)

Join us for a life-changing experience at the Fresno County Youth Summit hosted by the Civic Education Center and Fresno County Superintendent of Schools at Wonder Valley Ranch Resort in Sanger, CA.

 

High school students will participate in fun leadership activities and learn how to make a positive impact in their communities. They will dialogue and network with diverse students from different schools and cultural backgrounds.
